The Cheetah Girls 2: All Barcelona Filming Locations

Having already been to Barcelona before, I set out to do something different and more exciting this time – and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to set out on my adventure to find all of the Cheetah Girls 2 filming locations in Barcelona.

The Cheetah Girls 2 in Barcelona may honestly be one of my favorite DCOMs (Disney Channel Original Movies for those out of the loop) of all time. From “Strut” to “The Party’s Just Begun” – the songs are iconic, in addition to the scenery, having chosen some incredible and off-the-tourist radar places in Barcelona to film the movie.

Honestly, let’s face it: The Cheetah Girls low-key invented Barcelona themselves – and it’s a major reason why many of us Gen Z and millennials even venture to visit this Spanish city in the first place.

After taking the time to discover and vet every single Cheetah Girls 2 filming locations myself, I’m going to provide a comprehensive guide to all of the Cheetah Girls 2 filming locations in Barcelona – listed in order to make your day walkable starting from Plaça de les Cascades all the way to Park Güell.

All “Cheetah Girls 2” Filming Locations in Barcelona

Museu Nacional d’art de Catalunya (Cheetahs Arrive in Spain)

Fresh off the plane from New York City, this is the first shot we see the Cheetah Girls in Barcelona when they overlook the city from the top Plaça de les Cascades right outside of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya.

I know, the Cheetah’s are reigning in Spain!

The view the Cheetah Girls see for the first time after landing in Spain!

If you don’t want to climb all the way up, just look for the escalators on the side! The view of Barcelona from the top is truly magnificent, as you’ll be able to see Tibidabo and even La Sagrada Familia from afar.

Address: Palau Nacional, Parc de Montjuc, Sants- Montjuc, 08038 Barcelona, Spain

Plaça de les Cascades (Girls Dance During Guitar Solo in “Strut”)

In the middle of Plaça de les Cascades, which is the plaza just below the National Art Musuem, we see the girls dancing with Angel during the guitar solo in “Strut”.

Address: Sants-Montjuïc, 08038 Barcelona, Spain

Parc Montjuïc (Second Chorus of “Strut”)

Although many people believe that the majority of “Strut” was filmed in Park Güell, it isn’t really the case – as the entire second chorus was filmed in Park Montjuïc.

Park Montjuïc is where the Cheetah Girls sing the second chorus of “Strut”.

Honestly, this is actually a really pretty and underrated park in Barcelona – situated on a hill where you’ll be able to see beautiful sites of the city and just how mountainous Spain really is.

I strongly suggest spending some time here while in Barcelona, and even trying to catch a show at the Magic Fountain.

Address: Sants-Montjuïc, 08038 Barcelona, Spain

St. Agatha Chapel (Dressing Hall Before Music Festival)

Better known as Chapel of Santa Àgata, this church in the heart of the Gothic Quarter is where the Cheetah Girls prepare before the concert – as we see glimpses of all of the outfits that Aqua had been desiging at Armat’s studio that summer.

So, the Cheetah Girls will perform… as, the Cheetah Girls…?
— Galleria and Dorothea confirming that The Cheetah Girls can perform in the Barcelona Summer Music Festival.

Chapel of Santa Àgata served as the dressing hall for the Cheetah Girls before their musical festival performance in Barcelona.

It’s also where it’s confirmed the Cheetah Girls will indeed perform in the summer music festival after previously having been disqualified from performing, as they had gotten paid and were deemed “professionals” at the Dancing Cat the night before.

Plaça del Rei (Music Festival Concert Location)

Perhaps one of the most exciting Cheetah Girls 2 filming locations I discovered, Plaça del Rei is where the Music Festival Concert in Barcelona took place.

Thank you Barcelona, for teaching me that not everybody’s path is the same… but if you find people that’ll take the journey with you, they are your true amigas Cheetahs.

Plaça del Rei is where the outdoor musical festival was set up for the new voices competition in the Cheetah Girls 2 in Barcelona.

It’s honestly even more stunning in real life, with locals hanging around the steps – it even reminded me of some of the more ancient places I saw in Rome and Greece (links).

Plaça de les Olles (Second Verse of “Strut”)

This is where the Cheetah Girls are dancing and singing in the second chorus of “Strut” – where people are painting and someone blows them a kiss from the balcony.

Address: Plaça de les Olles, 4, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona, Spain

Passeig del Born (Beginning and End of “Strut”)

Another iconic Cheetah Girls 2 filming location in Spain is the start and end of “Strut”, which takes place at Passeig Del Born. It’s also where we see Angel and Galleria tell each other their names for the first time.

Angel… how beautiful. Si, and your name? Um, it’s Galleria, it’s this big building that you buy stuff from…

Dancing Cat Exterior (Where Cheetah Girls Give Back Money)

While the Dancing Cat isn’t a real club in Barcelona, the exteriors were still filmed in Barcleona – right around the corner from Passeig del Born.

Let’s just say it’s the principle of the thing.

The Dancing Cat, while a make believe club, was still shot on Carrer del Rec in Barcelona.

Estació de França (Galleria at the Train Station)

Estació de França is the train station where we see Galleria about to hop on her train to Paris after deciding to leave Barcelona (link to Paris vs Barcelona here).

This song was written for four-part harmony… we can’t do this without you, girl. This is the best song you’ve ever written.

Estació de França is where Galleria almost leaves Barcelona to head to Paris to fly back to New York with her dad – who has a layover in Hong Kong.

The girls sing a snippet of the song Galleria wrote, and then they hug – reaffirming their forever friendship.

Address: Av. del Marquès de l'Argentera, s/n, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona, Spain

Passatge Mercantil (Aramet’s Studio)

This is where Dorothea, Galleria, and Aqua are seen shopping in Barcelona before Dorothea is stopped by an old friend named Randolph who also works in fashion.

Palau Dalmases Flamenco (Cheetah Girls Sit for Coca-Cola)

Probably my all-time favorite Cheetah Girls 2 filming location I saw in Barcelona, this was the true “pinch-me” moment – as I saw where the Cheetah Girls sat down for a drink after a long day of sight-seeing in Spain with my own eyes at Palau Dalmases Flamenco.

Look, we gotta strut down these streets like their runways and let Barcelona know the cheetahs, have arrived.
— Channel to the girls right before singing “Strut”.

Palau Dalmases Flamenco is where Galleria claims the Cheetah Girls could “never be tourists”, even though Channel saves the day by ordering for them in Spanish.

Note: it’s a little confusing to find this location. Google will try to redirect you to the entrance garnered towards art expositions, but you want to be outside the area where they admit people for flamenco shows – which is on Carrer de Montcada.

Luckily, even with little Spanish, there was a nice lady inside the art gallery who directed me the right way to walk (as shown in my Cheetah Girls 2 filming locations vlog above).

Address: Carrer de Montcada, 20, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona, Spain

Carrer de Montcada (First Chorus of “Strut”)

Also known as Calle de Montcada, this is the street right outside of Palau Dalmases where the girls start singing the first chorus of “Strut”.

Palace of Catalan Music (Festival Audition Theater)

A gorgeous music theater in a less-touristic part of Barcelona, this is where we see the girls officially audition in person for the new voices competition.

Yes, have voices – will travel.

At first, they hesitate, not sure what to sing, but after a few bars of “Sisters” – the Cheetah Girls are admitted into the music festival!

Address: C/ Palau de la Música, 4-6, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona, Spain

Teatre Coliseum (Joaquin’s Dance Studio)

Teatre Coliseum is where we see the exterior shots for Joaquin’s Sance studio being filmed.

Well New York… you came all the way to Barcelona, just to meet another dancer.

Address: Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 595, Eixample, 08007 Barcelona, Spain

Park Güell (Girls Singing Bridge into Final Chorus of “Strut”)

Park Güell is one of the last places the Cheetah Girls are seen singing “Strut” – first posing on the picturesque serpentine bench in the Greek Theatre before we see them strutting down the steps near the famous Iguana (link to perfect 3 days in Barcelona here) – better known as “El Drac”.

Park Güell is where the Cheetah Girls sit and pose before heading down the steps near “El Drac” during “Strut”.

Note: Keep in mind that you can’t enter Park Güell for free, and tickets sell out fast – so if you have your heart set on seeing this Cheetah Girls 2 filming location, I would book it as far in advance as possible.

Address: The Greek Theatre, Carrer d'Olot, 5, Gràcia, 08024 Barcelona, Spain

Garraf Beach (Cheetah Girls Go to Beach Party)

Around a 40-minute train ride outside of Barcelona, Platja del Garraf is where the Cheetah Girls meet Joaquin and some of his friends for a beach party – despite the fact Galleria is itching for the girls to rehearse for the music festival.

I know, I know – but come on, we are on the beach, in Spain, this is the hottest party we’ve ever been to… seriously, come… get your cheetah on, girl!
—  Channel to Galleria at the beach party.

Plajta Garraf, or Garraf beach, is where the Cheetah Girls meet Joaquin at a beach party.

More specifically, the girls are at the beach party at a real-life restaurant on the beach called La Cúpula Garraf – which is where we see the girls on the steps talking to Joaquin.

The overview cards below will reveal how to get to Garaff beach from Barcelona Saints:

🚆

Train from Barcelona

Take the R2 Sud local train from Barcelona Sants Station toward Vilanova i la Geltrú or Sant Vicenç de Calders and get off at Platja de Garraf Station.

⏱️

Travel Time

The journey takes around 35 minutes with approximately 7 stops from Barcelona Sants. The coastal views near arrival are especially pretty.

🎟️

Ticket Cost

Expect to pay around €8–€10 round trip depending on the ticket type purchased. You can buy tickets directly at the station machines before boarding.

🏖️

What to Expect

From the station, it’s just a short walk down to the beach. While Platja de Garraf may not be the most dramatic beach near Barcelona, it feels quiet, relaxed, and secluded compared to the city beaches.

Address: Carrer Mirador del Port, 5, 08871 Garraf, Barcelona, Spain

Sitges (Dorothea Mentions Driving There with Juanita)

One of the lesser known places mentioned in the Cheetah Girls 2, the first full day everyone is in Barcelona – Dorothea mentions that she and Juanita (Channel’s mom) are driving to Sitges for the day.

yellow clock tower in old beach town

Dorothea mentions driving to Sitges for the day from Luc’s villa in Barcelona.

In real life, this adorable little beach-town is only a 13-minute car ride away from Luc’s Villa. I can see why they ultimately chose to film in Garraf as opposed to Sitges, as Garraf is more isolated while Sitges is dense and more reminiscent of places like the villages along Nice.

The overview cards below will reveal how to get to Sitges from Barcelona Saints:

🚆

Train from Barcelona

Take the R2 Sud local train from Barcelona Sants Station toward Sitges. Trains run frequently throughout the day and are one of the easiest day trips from Barcelona.

⏱️

Travel Time

The ride takes around 44 minutes with approximately 8 stops along the way. Sit on the coastal side if you can for pretty Mediterranean views near arrival.

🏖️

Arriving in Sitges

From Sitges Station, it’s about a 10-minute walk downhill to the beach and old town area. The walk itself is lovely, with palm-lined streets, cafés, and boutiques.

🌊

Exploring Sitges

Beyond the beach, Sitges is worth wandering for its cute coastal streets, whitewashed buildings, boutiques, and seaside promenade. It’s one of the prettiest small towns near Barcelona.

Address: Plaça Eduard Maristany, 08870 Sitges, Barcelona, Spain

Finca Mas Solers (Luc’s “European Villa”)

Last but not least, Finca Mas Solers serves as the shooting location for Luc’s Villa, which is where Juanita, Dorothea, and all of the Cheetah Girls stay while in Spain.

In real life, it’s an event venue – it’s extremely close to Vilanova i la Geltrú and Sitges. If you plan to take a take a day trip from Barcelona to either of these for the day, it could be a good opportunity to check this Cheetah Girls 2 filming location off the list!

Address: Carretera Vilanova a Sant Pere de Ribes, BV-2112, 08810, Barcelona, Spain
